    Altec 934 Specs Overview

    System Components & Design

Driver: Utilizes the Altec 904-8A coaxial duplex 16″ driver with the distinctive “Mantaray” horn for uniform dispersion across the frequency range.

Crossover & EQ: Features a built-in dividing network with a dual-band equalizer—offering separate mid/high controls or a combined control when EQ is off.

Efficiency: Highly efficient design—produces ~101 dB SPL with just 1 W of input, and reaches ~120 dB SPL at 100 W.

    Performance & Use

Designed as a compact two-way system, ideal for touring musicians needing rugged, portable, yet high-output speakers.

The 904-8A driver is derived from the legendary 604 duplex driver, tailored for higher power handling, and was even used in Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” tour (1980–81).

Cabinet is the model 930 enclosure, equipped with heavy-duty handles, protective corner guards, and stackable feet. Finished in durable textured black with matching grille cloth.
